The City of Franklin has many great assets -- including its art and artists. We believe it's important to showcase this part of our community so that visitors and residents can enjoy the music, writings, paintings, sculptures, and other creative arts the city has to offer.

Our Vision
A visit to Franklin should include a celebration of the diverse art and artists who reside here. Art should be visible and accessible so everyone can experience it; participate in it's creation; and learn something about themselves in the process.
By providing community events and education spotlighting the visual and performing art and artists of the city, we hope to increase awareness and opportunities for community residents and visitors to see, learn about, and participate in these arts.

Our Founders
Lori May
President
Lori retired to Franklin in 2024 after a career that included event planning, team building, and project management. One key lesson she learned was that the best way to help someone is to create an opening for them to walk through.
Jeff May
Treasurer
Jeff retired to Franklin in 2024 after a career in small business technology. Although not an artist himself (at all), Jeff has always marvelled at the feelings that art can inspire and wants to make sure that everyone has a chance at that experience.
Looking for a way to contribute in their new home city, Jeff & Lori realized that although there is plenty of art around the city, there weren't many opportunities to celebrate it or their artists. Franklin Arts Community Engagement was created for the sole purpose of encouraging art appreciation for all of Franklin's residents and visitors.
